Yazen ranked as Europe’s second fastest-growing startup by Sifted

Yazen, Europe’s leading digital healthcare provider in obesity care, has been ranked as the second fastest-growing startup in Europe by the Sifted 250: Startup Europe Leaderboard 2025.

Yazen ranked as Europe’s second fastest-growing startup by Sifted

Yazen, Europe’s leading digital healthcare provider in obesity care, has been named the second fastest-growing startup in Europe according to the Sifted 250: Startup Europe Leaderboard 2025.The ranking highlights the 250 fastest-growing companies across the continent and is based on percentage revenue growth over the past three years.

Earlier this year, Yazen was ranked number one on the Sifted 100: Nordics and Benelux Leaderboard. With today’s announcement, the company secures further international recognition by placing second overall in Europe.

“This is an incredibly important milestone in our journey. Being recognised as one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups demonstrates the strength of our model and our team, but also the enormous healthcare need surrounding obesity. Our goal is clear: we will become Europe’s leading digital healthcare provider in obesity and give more patients access to effective treatment,” says Fredrik Meurling, CEO of Yazen.

Strong growth across Europe

In just one year, Yazen has expanded from 150 to 250 employees, of which 180 are medical professionals – including over 100 licensed physicians. During the same period, the company more than doubled its annual recurring revenue, from SEK 160 million to SEK 350 million.

Today, Yazen supports patients in seven countries – Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands – and continues to expand rapidly across Europe.

A new standard of care for obesity

Yazen’s care model combines modern medications with lifestyle changes and continuous digital follow-up. The results are strong: more than 40,000 patients have been treated so far, collectively losing over 360 tonnes of weight.

“Obesity is a chronic disease that requires care, not stigma. We have built a model that combines medication, digital healthcare, and a full care team – doctors, dietitians, psychologists, and health coaches – to deliver sustainable results for our patients. The fact that our growth is now being recognised across Europe shows that we are on the right track,” says Martin Carlsson, Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of Yazen.
