Martin Carlsson is a physician and specialist in endocrinology/diabetology, internal medicine and clinical chemistry.

He studied medicine at Karolinska Institutet, followed by doctoral research at Lund University on type 2 diabetes and the genetics of overweight and obesity.

Today, he is an Associate Professor at Linnaeus University, with main research interests in hypertension, type 2 diabetes, overweight and obesity, vitamin D, the metabolic syndrome and the digital transformation of healthcare.

Martin has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers and contributed to several medical textbooks. He is the founder of the e-health company Accumbo AB (now Blodtrycksdoktorn) and co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Yazen Health, where he is dedicated to developing the future of care for people living with overweight and obesity.
