Serves: 6
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 hibiscus tea bags
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, plus extra to garnish
  • 5 cloves
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 4 orange slices
  • 120 ml orange juice
  • 120 ml pomegranate juice (pure, not from concentrate)
  • 2 tbsp runny honey
  • 500 ml water

METHOD:

  • Bring the 500 ml water to a boil in a pan.
  • Add the hibiscus tea bags, star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and cardamom pods. Gently simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add the orange slices, orange juice, and pomegranate juice. Simmer for another 15 minutes.
  • Strain to remove the spices and tea bags. Pour the liquid back into the pan with the orange slices.
  • Stir in the honey to taste.
  • Serve hot in glass mugs, garnished with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick.
